Alexander Courage is the man behind the iconic Star Trek theme song. He was born in Philadelphia in 1919 and began his musical career playing the piano in nightclubs. He eventually became a arranger and orchestrator for film and television. He did the music for Star Trek, The Twilight Zone, Gunsmoke, and Dallas. He died in 2008.
